Biomarker study in Depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Bipolar Disorder

Biomarker study in Depression and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

The purpose of this study is to evaluate some signaling substances (including the newly known 2-AG) in the blood that may be related to mood disorders. In doing so, we will take blood samples from healthy participants and patients with depressive disorder or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and do so over a 6-hour period. These signaling compounds are potentially important for drug research in the future.

Do you belong to any of the above groups? Would you like to contribute to science, but still have doubts about using test medication? Then this study without administration of medication might be for you!

Prior to your possible participation in the study, we will arrange a "screening meeting" where you will have the opportunity to discuss with the research physician any necessary questions or uncertainties in a discreet manner.

Participation in the study

  • No placebo nor medication will be administered during this study, only blood draws and some standard tests

Biomarker study in Bipolar Disorder

The purpose of this study is to use bio-markers related to your day/night rhythm to determine whether this reflects a difference between healthy participants or people with bipolar disorder. In this way, the extent to which biorhythms affect your health/mood will be examined.

Do you think your day and night rhythm can add value to science? Then this study is an excellent opportunity to participate in a clinical trial without having to take study medication.

What is unique about this study is that it will continue primarily at home. You will be monitored at home for 5 days using a medical device attached around the chest called Vitalpatch (single-lead bipolar ECG device).

Prior to your possible participation in the study, we will arrange a "screening meeting" where you will have the opportunity to discuss with the research physician any necessary questions or uncertainties in a discreet manner.

We are looking for different groups of participants (healthy volunteers, patients with bipolar disorder). If you are interested, do not hesitate to enroll in this mostly exploratory study!

  • Neither placebo nor medication will be administered during this study
